  Comment: Ducke (1909) states on page 87 "Cette esèce est, selon Friese, de la parenté de l'atra Lep., qui m'est inconnue. L'E. diaboloica Schrottky est entièrement noire et le segment 7 du male a une structure spéciale." (This species is, according to Friese, related to the atra Lep., Which is unknown to me. The E. diaboloica Schrottky is entirely black and segment 7 of the male has a special structure.). This name may refer to Melissa diabolica Friese, 1900 referenced in Schrottky's 1902 Ensaio Sobre As Abelhas Solitarias do Brazil (see page 499 No. 7)
