  Comment: As noted by Shea (2015:112), the name as originally published by Robb (1972:39-40) was Ramphotyphlops leptosoma, and although he did not specify the etymology, it ends with the Greek noun 'soma' (meaning body), and under ICZN Arts. 31.2.1-2 it must be considered a noun in aposition, and not changed to match the gender of the genus. Thus, the current combination is Anilios leptosoma, even though the genus is masculine
