  Comment: Although the genus name Colophotia had been used by Dejean (1833:103, perhaps elsewhere, too), the genus name was apparently not available until Motschulsky 1853. Nevertheless, the species names described under 'Colophotia' before 1853 can still be available under ICZN Art. 11.9.3.1
