 Comments

Comment: Originally published in a neuter genus, as 'Lygosoma (Leiolopisma) microcercum', but Poyarkov et al. (2019: 18, cited by Reptile Database online 5/2022) argue that the original epithet (macrocercum) was treated as adjectival, but that no such adjective exists. They further argue that it is to be corrected to the noun form, macrocercus, which must not be further changed. However, this change does not appear to be permitted under the current ICZN ('Code' 1999, in which case it should be retained in original form as a noun)
