 Comments

Comment: Recent work has shown that the former phylum Acanthocephala belong within phylum Rotifera. Ruggiero et al. (2015) retained them as a separate phyla, while Brusca et al. (2016) included subclass Acanthocephala as a subclass of the rotifer class Hemirotatoria. Unfortunately, Brusca et al. did not supply any of the further classification within subclass Acanthocephala, so until a unified classification with traditional ranks is available, ITIS will follow Ruggiero et al. (2016) on Rotifera & Acanthocephala
