  Comment: Pristina longisoma Harman, 1977) was placed in a new genus, Pristinella, by R.O. Brinkhurst (1985) to separate this and other Pristina species without a proboscis from those species that do have a proboscis; this separation was later suppressed by Collado and Schmelz (2000); see the commentator notes, above, for the genus Pristinella
