  Comment: Classification of the family Hesperiidae follows Warren et al. (2009). Seven subfamilies are recognized. Tribes are recognized under Pyrginae and Hesperiinae; tribal placement of many Old World hesperiine genera remains ambiguous  
    Megathyminae is synonymized according to the placement of the type genus, Megathymus Scudder 1872, in the Hesperiinae (Warren, 2009; Pelham, 2008)
