  Comment: Ruggiero et al. (2014) have followed the stance that Article 16.4 of McNeill et al. (2012) allows for the omission of the word element -selmid- as it is 'the genitive singular stem of the second part of a name of an included genus' (namely type genus Nephroselmis), and the name is above the rank of order. This view would mean Nephrophyceae is the correct name for the class. Others could read the Article as a restrictive list of word elements that can be excluded, and since -selmid- is not listed, that interpretation would mean Nephroselmidophyceae would be the corrected name for the class
