  Comment: Wilson and Reeder (2005) lists Mus cafer Pallas, 1778, but as indicated by Graaff (1981) the correct publication date is 1779; pages 1-70 of 'Novae species Quadrupedum e Glirium ordine...' were published in 1778 and the remainder in 1779, and Mus cafer was published on page 87
