 Comments

Comment: Beron (2022:44) lists Eupodes alaskanensis Strandtmann, 1971 as a valid/accepted species, citing only its original description. However, on page 51, he lists it as a junior synonym of Eupodes voxencollinus Thor, 1934, citing that same original description AND a 1977 work in which Strandtmann and Prasse synonymized Eupodes alaskanensis Strandtmann, 1971 under Eupodes voxencollinus Thor, 1934. Strandtmann and Goff (1978) confirmed that synonymy. We conclude that Beron overlooked the name appearing twice, and that the name should remain in synonymy unless/until it is revived as a valid name
