  Comment: Apparently (not seen) originally given in 1962 as a variety, v. italica. Per the ICZN (Art. 15.2), the name is not available from any work after 1960 if given as a variety. Such a name MAY be made available by the first author, prior to 1999, who gave the name as a subspecies or a full species along with either a description or a bibliographic reference to one (Art. 13.1). Per Castilho et al. (2016: 54), there do not appear to be any such works, so it is possible that this name is not available. If so, a substitute name would need to be published if this taxon continues to be recognized
