  Comment: Frost (2019, Amphibian Species of the World 6.0) provides the following comment: Name not associated with any known species (W.E. Duellman in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 137). Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 354, stated that the species is distinguished from Hyla crepitans by its acuminate snout, larger eye, and anterior femoral bands and on that basis is here considered a nomen dubium, likely based on some species of Hypsiboas
