  Comment: Possible error by McDermott, 1966. Keller and Martin (2024) state: 'Olivier (1899: 74) gave Lampyris quadratifera Blanchard, 1845 the new combination Photinus quadratifer (Blanchard, 1845). Later, Lucas (1859) listed Lucidota quadratifera Blanchard as a new combination. The name was listed under the genus Photinus in subsequent catalogs (Olivier 1907a, 1910), but McDermott (1966) listed it under Photinus and, at the same time, he also listed Lucidota quadratifera Lucas, 1857, possibly misunderstanding the new combination proposed by Lucas (1857) as a new authorship/species'
